East End is located in the eastern corner of Saline County just south of Little Rock. The community has seen a lot of growth, especially over the last decade. Many residents have felt the need for East End to become a city. The community has always had an identity crisis. Some examples of this are; we are part of the Sheridan(Grant County) School District, the telephone prefix is listed as Springlake, depending on where in the community you live could give you a Little Rock, Hensley or Mabelvale mailing address, we live approx 15 miles from Benton which is our county seat. As a city, East End would eventually have an identity of its own.
East End has a volunteer fire department with a current I.S.O. classification rating of 6/9. The fire department has 2 part-time paid crew members on duty Monday-Friday. We are currently home to several churches of various denominations. We have 3 gas station/convenience stores, 2 dollar stores, several eating establishments, 2 video rental stores, a grocery store, 2 hardware stores, a florist, and 3 banks. Be sure to stop by the new Sonic opening in September. We also have 2 school campuses; East End Elementary, and East End Intermediate. The school district currently has preliminary plans to build a junior high school in the future.
